I have been going to Dimitri's owned resteraunts for about 12 to 13 years now. My boys were raised on their gyros. I have brought both family and friends there for years. Their gyro is unmatchable. Service has always been wonderful. The entire menu is wonderful. For me it is hard to get past their "original gyro" and feta fries! I will be going there for years to come.
The food was good and the service was top notch. We really enjoyed our waitress. The price was fairly reasonable but the view was fantastic. It is an open air bar and grill up stairs, I mean like 2 1/2 to 3 stories high. Great view of the beach, Atlantic Ocean and Atlantic Boulevard (A1A). The blackened Red Fish was very good and my wife enjoyed her shrimp. If I'm ever back in the area I would definitely go back.
I can start by saying the food was actually really good. A pleasant surprise considering the list of negative things leading up to it. So we go up stairs and sit down. 5-8 mins sitting there and no one from the staff had come up. So my boyfriend spots the menus and gets us some to look at. Some things are priced oddly. Like the lamb gyro being cheaper than chicken. Or a side of mashed potatoes for 6$ or their pasta dishes are near $20. Anyway, we order and my bf went to do the 2$ upgrade for chowder, but he was informed they didn't have any. Both sets of silverware had dried food on them. We asked for plastic forks. The waitresses shorts, I'd consider too short since her butt cheeks were out...unprofessional. It took a while for our food to come out. They were super slow though. The waitress dropped my bfs food off and informed me she dropped my chicken on the way up. Side note, she had a white plate of mashed potatoes sitting on top of the veggies on the main entree plate. Gross. So another wait later my entree came out. The fries were cold. I assumed they just tried to use the same fries from 15 mins earlier when they dropped my chicken. So I had to ask for fresh fries. They were awesome fresh. One of the last things I'll say is they need to clean a lot more. Mustard bottles were grimy and crusty, I tried getting salt out the shaker but it was too crusty for it to come out. And we had to get our own napkins. Just pay attention to details.
Went there last night with a party of 21, for a wedding party, unannounced. After an initial panic, the deck waitresses put together the tables, made sure all were accommodated, and charged forward with drink and food orders. Minor glitches, but expected when so many people show up unannounced. Food and drinks were excellent, staff was wonderfully pleasant and attentive, and manager chipped in with cooking, and stopped in to make sure all was going good. A super time had by all. The views of the full thunderstorm only added to the great time. Thanks to the staff, made Dimitri's a great memory.
